Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 13-week contract in Salem, Oregon. Requires at least 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.

License: active Oregon RN or pending; Epic charting; IV therapy; dysrhythmia interpretation; port care; isolation/PPE; cardiac monitoring.

Unit: 30-bed Medical Surgical Oncology; day shift 4x12 (0700-1930); 1:4-6 nurse/patient; every other weekend; travel housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon RN license or pending
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience in last 3 years
• Interpreting dysrhythmias, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care & PPE
• Experience with chemotherapy/Immunotherapy administration certification within 1 year
• Port access/management and central line care
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience
• Experience with Epic charting system

Responsibilities

• Care for oncology patients across all stages including end-of-life with Cancer Institute support
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Floating as needed with priority to West Valley Hospital
• Epic charting system used
• Nurses will obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 13-week contract requiring at least 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Active or pending Oregon RN license accepted at time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response team activation
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and port access/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required

Responsibilities

• 30-bed Medical Surgical Oncology unit on the seventh floor of Building A
• Oncology patients at all stages of diagnosis, including end-of-life care, with integrated Cancer Institute and Palliative Care support
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required, with priority given to West Valley Hospital, approximately 15 minutes away
• Epic charting system used
• Nurses will obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire
• Must be skilled in supporting patients and families through all stages of cancer treatment, including end-of-life care
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Short Term Acute Care, Magnet-recognized, teaching hospital, and Level II Trauma Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• RTO requests over 2 weeks require approval and must be finalized prior to consideration
• Former employees of the health system must wait six months from termination date before being eligible for travel assignments
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
