Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Oncology RN with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) expertise for a 13-week acute care assignment in Missouri. Active MO or compact RN license is required, with ACLS, BLS, and Chemotherapy certifications.

At least 1 year of Oncology/chemo experience is necessary. EPIC charting is preferred, and Relias EKG exam must be passed. The role involves inpatient Oncology/BMT care, autologous stem cell transplant patients, and chemotherapy administration.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN with BMT expertise and chemotherapy certification for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC)
• Minimum 1 year of Oncology/chemo experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in chemotherapy administration, port access/management, blood and blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and central line blood draws
• Experienced in IV therapy, antibiotic and antiemetic administration, Foley catheter insertion/management, and isolation precautions
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills required

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Oncology/BMT unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Average daily census of 30 across 32 beds
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required throughout the Oncology department based on daily needs
• Cares for patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration
• Provide direct care to patients undergoing bone marrow/stem cell transplants and chemotherapy treatments
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Located within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months at this facility, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Must have facial hair compliant with respirator fit testing standards or be willing to shave
