Job summary

American Traveler is recruiting a Chemotherapy RN for a 13-week assignment in Oregon. Requires an active Oregon RN license, BLS, and ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card with at least one year of acute care or med/surg experience.

Responsibilities include direct/indirect chemotherapy patient care, multidisciplinary communication, Plan of Care management, and participation in performance improvement initiatives while delivering culturally sensitive care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon.
• ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card required.
• Minimum one year of acute care or medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Oncology Nursing Certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care to Chemotherapy patients, including medication administration and treatment per physician/NP orders.
• Communicate effectively with Chemotherapy physicians, NPs, nurse managers, and coworkers regarding patient condition changes and policy updates.
• Initiate and manage computerized Plan of Care/Standard of Care for patients on admission.
• Participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide teaching, triage, counseling, and delegation as part of role responsibilities.
• Work independently with general guidance from the Nurse Manager.
• Deliver age-specific, culturally sensitive, and psychosocially appropriate patient care.
• Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances, requiring proper PPE use.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon

• ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card required
• Minimum one year of acute care or medical/surgical nursing experience required

• Previous Oncology experience preferred
• Oncology Nursing Certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 years of hire

• Medical unit setting specializing in Chemotherapy patient care
• Day shift with variable scheduling
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift
• 13-week contract length
