Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift at a Level I Trauma Center in New Haven, CT. The role requires 2+ years of oncology experience and an active CT or compact RN license.

The position features 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00), a patient load around 4–5 per nurse, and travel eligibility. Vaccination and scrubs requirements apply; flexible PTO and potential housing support are noted for travelers.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or compact) required prior to start
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology experience (1.5 years OK with Level I trauma/travel)
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions
• Ports/central line care and blood draws experience
• PCA pump management experience
• Oncology telemetry experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• One professional reference required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Average patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system used
• Travelers may participate in disaster or emergency response activities
• Royal blue scrubs color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations
• COVID vaccine and booster required, exemptions only
• RTO requests >7 days require additional approval
• Former staff must have 2-year separation before returning as traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; within 75 miles considered local
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
