Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Oncology Clinic with 2+ years oncology experience and a CT or compact RN license. The role centers on clinic-based care, triage, patient education, and coordinating tests and referrals.

Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Requires BLS, Epic charting, and vaccine compliance. Travel experience is required; local candidates within 75 miles are considered non-local. Generous benefits and housing support provided.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting functioning in a practice nurse capacity, not an infusion role.
• Manage and respond to patient messages through the electronic in-basket.
• Perform phone triage and determine appropriate follow-up or escalation.
• Coordinate care including tests, referrals, appointments, and other aspects of the patient's plan of care.
• Support clinic workflows for a designated outpatient oncology team including documentation and follow-up needs.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• No weekend requirement.
• May float within scope to other specialties to meet facility needs.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide patient education related to oncology diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team to address patient needs and maintain continuity of care.
• Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting with over 1,500 staffed beds.
• Royal blue scrub color required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only.
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local.
• Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler.
• Requests for time off greater than 7 days require approval.
• First-time travelers not accepted for this role.

• Active RN license (CT or compact) required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
• 2 years of oncology nursing experience required, with consideration for 1.5 years if candidate has Level I trauma or travel experience
