Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in North Carolina.

Requires at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and one completed travel assignment, NC or Compact license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications, and proficiency with IV starts, foley, NG tubes, EKGs and heparin drips. The facility is Joint Commission accredited with an A LeapFrog rating; responsibilities include 48-bed unit with 1:6 patient ratio and no call duties, with housing and

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience with at least one travel assignment.
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility for travel rate eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit duties on a 48-bed unit with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Day shift 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; weekend coverage every other weekend.
• Occasional floating to inpatient rehab or ER for assignments.
• No on-call requirements; uses Paragon EHR.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and one completed travel assignment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience with at least one completed travel assignment
• Proficient in starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and inserting NG tubes
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
• Experience with high-turnover, 1:6 patient ratio units preferred

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Combination unit in a 205-licensed-bed hospital
• 48-bed unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Rare floating possible to inpatient rehab or ER for task assignments
• No call requirements
• Uses Paragon EHR
• Facility is a Joint Commission accredited hospital with an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating
• Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive ED and a free-standing ED
• Facility has the region's largest and most advanced ICU and PCU
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel rate consideration
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
