Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Metairie, LA. You will float between Med/Surg and Tele/ED holds, with 3x12-hour nights from 19:00 to 07:00, and Epic charting used for documentation.

Requirements include an active LA or compact RN license, minimum 2 years of RN experience, BLS; ACLS and CPI preferred, and two recent manager references. Travel housing and licensure support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active LA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted).
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI certifications preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skills in neurological/psychiatric, CVA, GI, feeding tube care, Heparin protocols, PCA, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and renal failure management.
• Two recent manager references required.

Responsibilities

• Float position caring for Med Surg/Tele patients holding in the ED while awaiting floor beds.
• Also staffs Med Surg/Tele units when not needed in the ED.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Epic charting system used.
• Care for Med Surg/Tele patient population across ED holds and inpatient units.
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate.
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments.
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement.
• First-time travelers may be considered unless otherwise specified.
