Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 12-hour day shift role requiring 2+ years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

The nurse will work on Med Surg floors in a 294-bed hospital, using MEDITECH EHR, with patient ratios from 6:1 to 7:1 and floating to Telemetry/ED as needed. Bi-weekly orientation and travel housing allowances accompany the assignment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• BLS, NIHSS and AHA certs required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• MEDITECH experience preferred; Med Surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on 3rd and 5th floor Med Surg units, each with 22 beds.
• Telemetry and MEDITECH EHR system are used on the unit.
• 12-hour day shifts 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; every other weekend; no on-call.
• Floating to Telemetry and ED units as needed.
• Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg unit within a family-oriented team.

Responsibilities

• 294-bed Joint Commission accredited hospital offering cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services
• Work on 3rd and 5th floor Med Surg units, each with 22 beds
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including surgical, PD exchanges, placement, and psych cases
• Patient ratios range from 6:1 up to 7:1
• Uses telemetry equipment and MEDITECH EHR system
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required, including as a 2nd nurse to Telemetry and ED units
• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg unit within a family-oriented team environment
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Bi-weekly orientation is available with upcoming start dates
