Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for an Ortho unit in Tulsa, OK. The role requires an OK or Compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Job duties include working on a 30-bed Ortho/Spine unit with medical overflow patients, performing EPIC documentation, and caring for ortho, spine and trauma cases. Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM), 36 hours weekly, with 1:5–6 patient ratios, every other weekend, and required float to related units; navy scrub

Qualifications

• Active RN license (OK or Compact) required at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratios required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred.
• Experience with pre/post neurosurgical and orthopedic trauma care preferred.
• Experience with total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheters preferred.
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 30-bed Ortho/Spine unit with medical overflow patients.
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, 36 hours per week.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required to like units within scope, with brief orientation provided.
• Documentation via EPIC.
• Navy scrub color required.
• Provide care for ortho, spine, and medical overflow patients including total joint replacement and trauma cases.
• First-time travelers not accepted for this role due to experience requirements.
• Local candidates within 75 miles not accepted.
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation.
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted for this position.
