Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Ortho RN for a night shift travel assignment at a Level III trauma center in Tennessee. The candidate must hold a TN or compact RN license and have at least 1 year of experience.

This 13-week assignment on a 23-bed unit includes 4–6:1 patient ratios and care for ortho, post-operative, bariatric, GI and trauma patients, using Meditech EHR. The 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shift, travel-rate eligibility for residents 60 miles away, and no on-call requirements are noted.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact)
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• ASN required for RN licensure in Tennessee
• Must clear Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to start
• Strong assessment skills preferred

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Combination unit specializing in Ortho, Post Operative, and Med/Surg care
• 23-bed unit with patient ratios of 4-6:1
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and peds (13 and older)
• Common diagnoses include post-operative joints, post-op bariatric, post-operative GI, and trauma patients
• Uses Meditech EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Provide direct patient care to post-operative orthopedic, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients
• Work within a Level III Trauma Center setting
• Any scrub color permitted; t-shirts must display hospital logo and acrylic nails are not allowed
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
