Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Missouri. Requires a current MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of RN experience, with BLS on hand and ACLS preferred or deadline-driven if applicable.

The role features day shifts (3×12 hours), patient ratios of 1:5–6, and no on-call duties. You’ll float to other units within scope and utilize the Epic charting system; housing allowances and travel reimbursements support travelers.

Qualifications

• MO license or compact license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred, required by compliance deadline if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
• Feeding tube care and management experience preferred
• Must meet fit testing requirements, including facial hair restrictions

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical and surgical nursing care to adult patients in a 110-bed short-term acute care unit
• Work day shift: 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float to Progress West and other units such as surgical and telemetry
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Navy scrub color required
• Some orientation may occur on weekdays due to limited weekend class availability
• RTO policy: up to 7 days per 13-week contract; first week RTO not allowed
• Must reside outside 75-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers may work up to 18 months before a 3-month break
• Former BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year to return as travel RN
