Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for the night shift in Missouri. Requires active MO or compact RN license and BLS; CPI preferred. Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience recommended; 1.5 years may be considered for strong candidates.

Cerner charting preferred but not required. Must be able to lift 20 lbs and work in a 24/7 hospital setting. Unit features 57-bed capacity with video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration, no pending licenses.
• BLS certification required.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred; 1.5 years may be considered for quality candidates.
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Medical Specialties unit with 57-bed max capacity servicing internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
• Rooms equipped with video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations.
• Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• Average patient ratios of 1:5 for days and 1:6 for nights, with occasional increases to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights.
• Float required to MS and MS/Tele units.

• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7/365, with routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather may be required
• Required to work 50% of holidays falling within the contract, with flexibility on which specific holidays are worked
• RTO is not granted for holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at a reduced rate, no locals within 50 miles
