Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for an ortho-focused night shift position at a Trauma Level I facility in Virginia. The role requires 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active compact or VA RN license.

BLS is mandatory; ACLS is preferred. Responsibilities include direct patient care on an ortho-focused unit, night shifts (3x12 or 4x12), with possible floating per unit policy.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact license
• BLS certification is required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience
• Ortho-focused Med/Surg unit experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• LTAC and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• BSN is not required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
• Work on an ortho-focused Medical Surgical unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 6:45pm–7:15am
• Trauma Level I facility
• Floating may occur per unit policies
• Use Cerner/Oracle Health charting systems (preferred)
• Biweekly orientation on Mondays; 8–10 hours of orientation modules annually
• Must reside within 60-mile radius of the facility
• No first-time traveler for this position
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment; prefer no RTO in first weeks
• Holiday coverage in rotation with staff
• Scrubs acceptable; nicotine-free campus
