Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced surgical trauma unit in New Hampshire. The role requires Level I/II trauma experience and an NH license. You will care for trauma and acute surgical patients in a high-acuity setting.

The position offers travel-based opportunities with per diem housing allowances, comprehensive benefits, and competitive pay. Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.

Qualifications

• Active NH RN license or Compact RN with state residency proof
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg experience
• Recent Level I trauma center experience, or several years of Level II trauma center experience within last 2 years
• Experience with chest tubes, post-surgical lines/tubes/drains, trach care, telemetry, and complex wounds
• Experience with drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws

Responsibilities

• 36-bed adult surgical unit caring for trauma and acute care surgical patients
• Includes 2 negative pressure rooms for COVID-positive patients
• Common diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy
• LNA to patient ratio of 1:12
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4 days and 1:5 nights
• 12-hour PM-AM shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Provide direct nursing care to trauma and acute surgical patients in a high-acuity environment
• Focus on rehabilitation and support for patients with significant injuries
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
