Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift on the hospital’s Medical Surgical unit (4 South) in South Carolina.

The role requires 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active SC regional or compact RN license. The ideal candidate will have ORTHO skills, IV therapy, phlebotomy experience, and familiarity with GI care, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, CVA care, Heparin and PCA administration.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must obtain prior to start).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Ortho skills required.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, GI care, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, CVA care, Heparin and PCA administration preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Nursys or other license verification required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Medical Surgical unit (4 South) of a hospital.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15).
• Every other weekend required.
• Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as part of a resource pool.
• Care for patients requiring IV therapy, blood products, peripheral lines, ortho trauma, total joint replacement, surgical drains, telemetry.
• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit with floating to MS and Telemetry units as needed.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions.
• Previous staff RNs at this facility are not eligible to return as travelers.
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application.
