Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 6-bed unit in North Carolina. The role requires NC or compact RN licensure and the ability to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients.

Night shifts, 7:00pm–7:00am, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, with Every Other Weekend and Holiday. Expect around 100 deliveries monthly, with collaboration with OBGYNs and midwives. Epic EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• NRP certification required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR.
• Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with OBGYNs and midwives.
• Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients.
• Night shift, 7:00pm-7:00am, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week.
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director.
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Participate in patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care practices.
