Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shift in Odessa, Texas. The role requires 2+ years of L&D experience, active TX or compact RN license, and current ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE with AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.

Work 3x12 or 4x12 hours with 1:2 patient ratio in a hospital setting. Cerner charting experience preferred and a dynamic start date 3–4 weeks from offer.

Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE certifications.
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required.
Skilled in labor and delivery management and fetal monitoring.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care.
Perform fetal monitoring including internal and external EFM, IUPC placement.
Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including circulating and recovery care.
Care for antepartum and high-risk antepartum patients, including NST/OCT testing.
Support newborn care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D and travel experience along with NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certifications.

Details

Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
Facility performs 100-300 births per month
Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
Alternating 36/48 hour schedule or straight 36 hours considered
Patient ratio of 1:2
Cerner charting experience preferred

Actual start date is typically 3-4 weeks from time the offer is received. Start dates are determined based on facility needs and credentialing requirements.

Requirements

Active TX or compact RN license required
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, STABLE
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance
Experience with IV therapy, central line maintenance, and administration of blood products
Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medication administration

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
Perform fetal monitoring including internal and external EFM, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including circulating and recovery care
Care for antepartum and high-risk antepartum patients, including NST and OCT testing
Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management, cesarean recovery, and lactation support
Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and infant identification
Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
