Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit setting
• Night shift 19:00–07:00 (3x12 hours)
• Mother/Baby, Newborn Care, and Newborn Assessment patient population
• Perform surgical procedures including D&C
• Provide pain assessment and management
• Administer IV therapy and manage infusions
• Willing to float within the health system as needed
• Document care in health records per standards
• Delegate care to team based on education and credentials
• First-time travelers welcome; must live outside 60-mile radius of facility
• Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if license is in process
• More than one DUI disqualifies candidates

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Fetal Monitoring, STABLE, and NRP certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a labor & delivery unit, or completion of an L&D training program
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor
• Proof of Washington state license application required at time of consideration

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Patient population includes Mother/Baby, Newborn Care, and Newborn Assessment
• Performs surgical case procedures including D&C
• Provides pain assessment and management
• Administers IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manages infusion pumps and drips
• Candidates must be willing to float as needed within the health system
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards and unit protocols
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team involving patients and families
• Document patient care in the healthcare record per established standards
• Direct and delegate care to team members based on education, credentials, and competence
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must have 3 days or less of requested time off (RTO) for consideration
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if license is still in application process
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
