Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a qualified RN for Labor and Delivery in Connecticut. The ideal candidate holds an active CT or compact RN license and has 2+ years of current L&D experience.

The role involves night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 12.5-hour shifts) with weekend requirements and potential cross-unit coverage including Maternity, Pediatrics, and NICU. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NRP-Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, with NCC C-EFM within one year.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only).
• NRP-Advanced certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (Advanced EFM not accepted).
• NCC C-EFM certification required within one year of first assignment.
• 2+ years of current labor and delivery experience required.
• Two professional references from a manager or above, from the current discipline/specialty within the prior year.

Responsibilities

• Delivery Room department within a hospital setting.
• Responsible for intermittent electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and interpretation of fetal heart rate tracings.
• Manages spontaneous vaginal deliveries and assisted births.
• Manages high-risk labor cases including IUGR, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes.
• Performs induction and augmentation of labor including Pitocin protocols and cervical ripening agents.
• Performs amnioinfusion procedures.
• Serves as C-section circulator and manages surgical patients.
• Night shift, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 12.5-hour shifts.
• Requires 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Floating to Maternity, Pediatrics, and NICU as needed.
• Holiday coverage required per facility schedule.
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced rate.
• Candidates with prior work history at Northwell or Nuvance Health locations are subject to an eligibility review process before being considered.
• Uses Kronos for timekeeping.
• C-EFM certification on day one is strongly preferred.
