Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in Columbus, OH. The role requires Epic proficiency and at least two years of L&D experience to manage antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), provide comprehensive nursing care, and potentially float to other units. Ohio licensing and AWHONN/NCC‑level certifications are required, with references as specified.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) at time of consideration.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Skilled in IV starts, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products.
• Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred.
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• 2 professional references, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM).
• May be required to float to other units.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Support high-risk antepartum patients and assist with neonatal care in the delivery room.
• Perform fetal monitoring, including EFM and IUPC placement/calibration.
• Assist with C-section circulation and recovery, and manage epidural pain protocols.
• Administer medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate therapy.
• Facility manages a high-volume delivery caseload.
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility.
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments.
• RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less.
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required.
