Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in New Jersey. The role requires an active NJ or compact RN license and circulating/scrubbing for C-sections, with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of L&D experience and be proficient with Epic charting. Shifts are 3x12s (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with every other weekend, and staff may float within a five-hospital network.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required, with BLS not expiring within 30 days of assignment start.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing (PC required, iOS not compatible), limited to two attempts.
• Must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit assignment.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM).
• Every other weekend required.
• 1:6 patient ratio, may float to facilities with higher volumes.
• Required to float within a network of five hospitals based on staffing needs.
• May be required to float to the High-Risk Obstetric Unit (HROB).
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Circulate and scrub for C-sections.
• Block scheduling not permitted.
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care including fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care.
• Scrubs provided by the hospital.
• One winter holiday and one summer holiday coverage required.
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted.
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment.
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required with no exemptions.
• Local rate applies to candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
