Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in Michigan. Requires 2+ years of L&D, active MI RN license, BLS/ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/C-EFM certifications. Night shifts (3x12s, 19:00–07:30) with every-other weekend; no on-call.

15-bed LDRP, travel-friendly with floats to Bronson Methodist Hospital; Epic documentation; newborn screens with ALGO 5. Scrub skills preferred; vaccinations proof required.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA).
• Current NRP certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate certification or NCC C-EFM certification required (one of the two).
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Circulating and FHM Triage skills required.
• Scrub skills preferred.
• Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration or exemption within 48 hours of signing.

Responsibilities

• 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms.
• Provide antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn nurse at delivery, and couplet care.
• Perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine.
• Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios.
• Night shift schedule with 3×12-hour shifts from 19:00–07:30.
• Every other weekend requirement.
• No on-call requirement.
• Floats to the house as a sitter when needed.
• Floats to Bronson Methodist Hospital for L&D and mother-baby as census and need arise.
• Uses Epic for documentation.
• Trained to complete newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5.
• Travelers prioritized to float first.

• RTO limited to no more than 10 days for the remainder of the contract
• Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months
• Previous Bronson permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
