Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 14-week travel assignment in Stockbridge, GA. You will care for adult-geriatric ICU patients on day shifts (7:00–19:00) with floating within the facility as needed and a 1:2-3 patient ratio.

Must hold GA or compact RN license and have at least 2 years ICU experience, plus BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Expect competitive weekly pay with travel stipends and fully taxable local pay.

• COVID-19 vaccination or exemption per policy.
• Pediatric experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to adult-geriatric ICU patients.
• Manage ventilator support and invasive lines.
• Perform continuous monitoring and respond to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and report per SBAR.
• Travel assignment with 3x12 hour day shifts and floating within scope.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a GA or compact license and at least 2 years of ICU experience for a 14-week day shift assignment.

Details

• ICU setting caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Patient population includes ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
• Unit has 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3, with possibility of taking a 3rd patient
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR charting systems
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same unit and shift

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Skills required include ventilator management, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, IV therapy, and central line care/management
• Skills required include CVA/acute stroke management and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT preferred
• Post cardiac surgery care experience preferred (not directly from OR)
• First‑time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse ICU patient population with complex diagnoses
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week or after offer/onsite
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
• If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were unable to complete a prior assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted

The $1,866 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
