American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift with cardiac expertise in Florida. The role requires a Florida or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and 18+ months ICU experience (2+ preferred).

Duties include critical care nursing, EPIC charting, and floating to three nearby hospitals. The assignment lasts 13 weeks with 3x12-hour nights, and local candidates are welcome at the same rate.

Responsibilities

Job description

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of consideration
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 18 months ICU experience required, 2 years preferred
• Cardiac experience required
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management
• IV therapy, arterial line and central line management experience required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Respiratory/thoracic skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning
• Isolation precautions and PPE competency required
• One professional reference from a supervisor, ANM, manager, or director in the applicable specialty required
• COVID-19 vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Must pass negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) test

Responsibilities

• ICU setting within a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required to all 3 hospital locations within 20 miles (Martin North, Martin South, Tradition)
• EPIC charting system used
• White scrub color required
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and cardiac complications
• Facility is a smoke-free and nicotine-free environment with no exceptions
• Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be prioritized immediately once confirmed for the assignment
• EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts each and no retesting allowed
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed during the interview process
• Expected to work every other holiday
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Permanent or per diem employees cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• Extensions with this client are permitted for up to 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required before returning
