American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift Critical Care role in Texas. The position requires several years of ICU experience and current TX or compact RN licensure.

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with ICU background is expected, with BSN preferred. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. The role supports a 13-week assignment with full benefits and relocation assistance where applicable.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Critical Care position requiring several years of ICU experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, with several years of ICU experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, caring practices, collaboration, diversity responsiveness, systems thinking, clinical inquiry, and advocacy skills required

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU MedSurgical A unit of a hospital setting
• Cares for complex critical care patients including DKA, post-STEMI, post-TNK stroke, intubated/ventilated, ARDS, MODS, CHF exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, GI bleeds, renal failure requiring CRRT/SLED, liver failure, IABP, and Impella patients
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Uses Excel for scheduling purposes
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full time, 13-week assignment
• Provides nursing care using the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Delegates and makes appropriate care assignments to other providers as needed
• New hires attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days and complete a Critical Care Department-specific competency validation
• Must complete all annual competency verification requirements
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before starting a travel assignment
