American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an ICU Nights assignment in Albuquerque, NM. Requires 1.5+ years of ICU experience and NM or Compact RN licensure. Candidates with ACLS and NIHSS are preferred.

Night shift is 18:30–07:00, with 36 or 48 hours per week and 1:2 patient ratios. Holidays/weekend coverage required. Travel-friendly eligibility and housing support offered.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU Nights position requiring 1.5+ years of experience and NM or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required prior to start
• Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, NIHSS; BLS preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care required
• Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips required
• Neurological care experience preferred, including EVD, hypothermia protocol, ICP monitoring, and post neurosurgery management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered with required experience level

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit, with potential coverage in the Heart Hospital area
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 7:00
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed
• Weekend shifts required
• Provide critical care nursing in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings
• Receive brief orientation when floating to other units
• Complete non-billable onboarding modules during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 3 days RTO auto-approved; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
