Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in Texas. Requires TX or compact RN licensure and prior ICU travel experience. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS are required; PALS/ENPC within 1 year. Two years of ICU experience and travel-nursing background are essential.

Expect a 4x12-hour day schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) in a Neuro/Surgical ICU setting with 1:2 staff ratios and Epic charting. Housing and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in-hand at time of consideration.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• PALS or ENPC within 1 year of start date required; TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Day shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• ICU setting with possible float outside unit.
• Patient ratio 1:2.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU work settings.
• Deliver critical care nursing services in high-acuity ICU.
• Complete required labs within 72 hours of offer.
• Must reside outside 110-mile radius of facility.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior ICU travel experience.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in-hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• PALS or ENPC required within 1 year of start date
• PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience managing patients with CVA/stroke, TBI, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care
• Experience with titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous sedation, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care

Responsibilities

• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, upon arrival
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
