Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position at a tertiary care teaching hospital in Maine. The ideal candidate will have a Maine or compact RN license and at least 3 years of ICU experience, with ACLS and NIHSS certifications.

You’ll work 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM in a 20-bed Medical ICU within a 32-bed combined Medical/Neuro ICU, with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Epic EMR is used; a MaineHealth affiliation in policy; travel considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine or compact required.
• Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 3 years ICU experience.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Driver's license required.
• Two professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Medical ICU within a 32-bed combined Medical/Neuro ICU unit at a tertiary care teaching institution.
• Care for medically complex patients including sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, and DKA.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No call requirements.
• Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, or CTICU based on experience, and to any IMC unit with a 1:3 ratio.
• Subject to a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide critical care nursing services to medically complex ICU patients in a teaching hospital environment.
• Candidate should demonstrate strong focus on patient care, team communication, and professional drive.
• Non-specific scrub color required.
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration.
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are accepted but considered local for pay purposes.
• Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions.
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion.]
