Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shift in Maine. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in ICU/Step Down and holds a Maine or compact RN license. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required; PALS is a plus.

This 13-week contract requires night coverage 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every other weekend. Local Maine candidates within 90 miles of MaineHealth facilities are not eligible for renewals. RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable; first-time travelers

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU and Step Down experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• Work in an 8-bed ICU/Step Down (SCU) unit
• Patient ratios of 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
• Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call requirements vary based on unit needs
• Float to MSU or other units as a resource within a 25-mile radius
• EPIC EMR used
• Provide direct patient care to ICU and Step Down patients
• Christmas holiday coverage required
• Solid-colored scrubs required; no prints allowed
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this upon consideration
