American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift travel position in Maine. The role requires 3 years of ICU experience and an active Maine or compact RN license.

Responsibilities include caring for ICU patients in a 32-bed teaching hospital, with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio, night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and every other weekend. Floats to multiple ICUs and uses Epic EMR. Local candidates within 90 miles are considered, with RTO and renewal considerations managed by the manager.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or compact) required upon consideration.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, with 3 years of ICU experience preferred.
• Current certifications required: ACLS and NIHSS.
• Non-AHA certifications accepted at consideration but AHA certification must be completed before start.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 32-bed ICU (20 Medical ICU, 12 Neuro ICU) at a tertiary care teaching institution.
• Care for patients with sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, and other medical complications.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, CTICU, and IMC units based on experience, with IMC ratios of 1:3.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients in a teaching hospital environment.
• Candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension.
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration.
• RTO should be minimized, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited while on the unit.
