Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for ICU with 2+ years ICU experience and Epic proficiency in Oregon. Active Oregon RN license (Compact accepted) required in hand at time of consideration.

Night shift 3x12-hour schedule expected with 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekends rotation, and on-call as census varies. Ideal candidates will have BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and experience with cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon RN license (Compact accepted) required in hand at time of consideration.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ICU nursing care for critically ill medical and surgical patients.
• Manage patients on ventilators and monitor ABG, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP as needed.
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation.
• Float to sister facilities within the region; travel accommodations provided for Seaside floats.
• Maintain patient ratios, monitor cardiac status, and titrate vasoactive drips as required.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an active Oregon RN license.

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license (Compact accepted) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing continuous IV sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Critical access hospital ICU unit with 23 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends required
• On-call required due to potential low census
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• May float to other units or sister facilities based on skill set and facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct ICU nursing care including management of critically ill medical and surgical patients
• Float coverage to sister facilities within the region may be required, with incentive pay and travel accommodations provided for Seaside floats
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Scrubs may be any color except OR/L&D, which are facility-provided
• No parking fees for staff
