American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN for a 13-week contract in Olathe, KS. The role requires critical care experience, including balloon pump, CRRT, and Impella, with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights.

Responsibilities include floating to PCU/CCU and other inpatient units, performing own labs and consults, and completing orientation with Epic training. ADN or higher required; new grads not considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU experience required.
• Active KS RN license or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with balloon pump, CRRT, Impella, and open hearts.

• Work in a mixed Critical Care unit (ICU/PCU hybrid) with Neuro, Spine, Cardiac, Medical, and Surgical patients.
• RN to patient ratio of 2:1 for critical patients, flexing to 3:1.
• 12-hour night shifts, 19:00-07:30, three shifts per week.
• Floating to PCU/CCU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED.

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU experience required
• Must have experience with balloon pump, CRRT, Impella, and open hearts
• Must be able to draw own labs and place PICC lines, as no vascular access team is available
• Must be comfortable calling own consults and conducting own codes
• ADN or higher required
• New graduates will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Work in a mixed Critical Care unit (ICU/PCU hybrid) with Neuro, Spine, Cardiac, Medical, and Surgical patient mix
• RN to patient ratio of 2:1 for critical patients, flexing to 3:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 19:00-07:30, three shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to PCU/CCU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED with prior experience
• No on-call requirements
• First two days of orientation held at the KUKC Campus, followed by facility-specific Director of Nursing training and virtual Epic training
• First week will include unit orientation on day shifts before transitioning to nights
• Holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve or Day and New Year's Eve or Day
• Facility is nicotine-free
• CBC, drug screen, and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Local and travel candidates accepted at the same bill rate
