Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an ICU float position in California. Requires CA RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS and 1+ year ICU experience. Epic EMR experience preferred. Night shift (3x12s) with regional float coverage across Neuro and Surgical ICU units.

Open to first-time travelers, offering housing and licensure reimbursements, weekly payroll, and comprehensive benefits. Must be within 50 miles for lower rates.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
• Epic EMR experience
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year in last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance
• CA RN license must be in hand at submission
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• IV therapy, line management and blood product administration experience required
• Ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation skills required
• Cardiac drip titration and continuous IV sedation experience
• Stroke/CVA patient management experience required
• Local candidates within 50 miles at lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait 3 months before returning as traveler
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits

Responsibilities

• Float Pool ICU responsibilities across Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU
• Patient ratio 1:2
• Night shift 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Minimum every other weekend; may exceed to meet unit needs
• Float to other ICU floors and sister facility Providence Mission Laguna up to 100% of shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Provide direct patient care in a float pool ICU role across multiple ICUs
• Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff
• Free parking on-site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; post-offer RTO changes may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
