Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Level I trauma teaching hospital in Arizona. You must hold an Arizona or compact RN license and have 2+ years of critical care experience. The role requires BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications and familiarity with Cerner charting.

The position features a 3x12-hour day shift, 3-4:1 patient ratios, and opportunities to float to PCU/MS/Tele. Travel and housing allowances are offered, with weekend coverage as needed and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or compact license.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care/ICU experience; 2–6 years preferred.
• Experience with cardiac drips and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Must read and interpret own cardiac strips; Cerner charting preferred.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting within a Critical Care Flex Pool at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Weekend shifts required as needed.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Float to PCU, MS/Tele units, and Cardiac Monitoring Room.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• 268 staffed beds; dedicated IV team for difficult IV access.
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted; RTO requires unit manager approval.

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care/ICU experience required, 2-6 years preferred
• Experience with cardiac drips (excluding vasopressors) required
• Experience with management and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
• Must be able to read and interpret own cardiac strips
• MS/Tele and/or PCU work history preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred

• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions within the facility, to nearby affiliate hospitals, or to other units based on skills and census needs
• Must work 2 of the facility's recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day)
• Previous employees of the facility (PERM, PRN, or EP staff) must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs accepted for this unit
