Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Florida. Candidates must hold an active Florida or compact RN license and have recent ICU experience, including vent management and hemodynamic drips.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license in hand.
• BLS and ACLS certification via AHA.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Minimum two years ICU experience with vent therapy and hemodynamic drips.
• Recent travel nursing experience.
• SICU, MICU, and Trauma experience preferred.
• Stepdown/PCU experience preferred.
• FBON-approved degree; 2 years recent acute care in US hospital if degree.
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted.
• Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening with fingerprint checks and abuse registry review.
• Pass basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment.
• Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations.

Responsibilities

• ICU/Stepdown unit setting.
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts 7:00 AM–7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend (EOW) required.
• Float as needed to other units.
• Holiday coverage as needed.
• Hurricane sign-up required but not guaranteed.
• Provide critical care nursing services to ICU and stepdown patients.
• Smoke-free facility.
• Locals accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate.
• Permanent employees must be separated from the facility for one year before returning as a traveler.
• Must report to the lab within 72 hours of signing for compliance testing.
• If retake of dysrhythmia exam is required, pass within 24 hours with an overall score of 83% or greater, 100% in lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections.

• Degree required from an accredited nursing school or an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON)
• Candidates with FBON‑approved degrees must have 2 years of consecutive recent acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted
• Successful completion of Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint‑based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
