Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment in Boise, Idaho.

The unit combines SICU/MICU with neuro ICU patients and requires 2+ years of ICU experience, active RN license, and current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications. RNs may float to other ICUs within the valley and to 1:1 sitter assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required at time of submission.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Experience in a similarly sized or larger ICU and hospital preferred.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one supervisor/peer from within the last 3 years, with dates of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing across combined SICU/MICU/neuro ICU patient population.
• Float to other ICUs in the Valley, including Meridian and Nampa Medical Centers, as needed.
• Titrate drips and monitor patients' telemetry and vitals.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists and respiratory therapists on shift.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active RN or compact license.

Details

• Combined SICU/MICU unit staffing neuro ICU patients as well, 32 total beds
• Nurse:patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
• Patient population includes CABG, CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, overdose, respiratory failure, and neuro surgery patients
• Unit does not treat trauma, burn, or transplant patients
• RNs required to titrate drips including Dopamine, Epi, Norepi, cardene, nitro, neo, vasopressin, diltiazem, insulin, and esmolol
• RNs monitor and read their own telemetry strips using Spacelabs equipment
• Hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists available in-house 24/7
• CNA support available at ratios of 1:8
• Charge nurse and resource nurse available on each unit
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Every other or half of weekends required
• Holiday coverage required as needed, with efforts to accommodate requests
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating required to other ICUs in the Valley including Meridian and Nampa Medical Centers, may also float outside ICU as a 1:1 sitter
• Priority given to travel RNs for shift fill after core staff scheduling

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience in a similarly sized or larger ICU and hospital preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across combined SICU/MICU/neuro ICU patient population
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• No specific scrub color or dress code requirement
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
