Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - ICU for a 36-hour weekly night shift in Yakima, WA. The assignment includes 12-hour nights (1900-0730 and 0700-1930) with no on-call duties, handling ACU/CCU patients and floating to ICU level or below across the hospital.

Requires WA license, BLS/ACLS, and at least two years ICU and prior travel experience. Epic EMR is used for charting and patient care management.

Responsibilities

Care for mixed ICU/ACU patients including CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath and CVA overflow.
Some surgical patients including vascular, abdominal, and GI cases.
Unit manages ICU and telemetry level patients.
Administer drips (diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, heparin).
Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, dressings, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - ICU with a WA or compact license and at least one completed travel assignment for a night shift ACU/CCU position.

Details

Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non‑profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
Care for a mixed patient population including CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath, and CVA overflow patients
Some surgical patients including vascular, abdominal, and GI cases
Unit regularly manages both ICU and telemetry level patients
Administer drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring
Sheaths may be present but travelers are not responsible for pulling them
12-hour night shifts (1900-0730 and 0700-1930) totaling 36 hours per week
Every other weekend rotation required
No on‑call responsibilities
Floating required to ICU level or below throughout the hospital
Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required
BLS and ACLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to a mix of ICU and telemetry-level patients
Professional scrubs of any color are permitted
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
