Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN for a 8-bed Medical ICU in Nevada with an active NV RN license and at least 2 years of MICU experience. The role includes no on-site cath lab and requires coordination with intensivists, equipment and charting in Epic EMR.

Travel experience is welcome; ICU staff per shift includes a dedicated Critical Care Technician, and shifts may include holidays. First-time travelers may apply with licensure readiness and orientation support.

Qualifications

• Active NV RN license required prior to start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only).
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience helpful; training provided during orientation or can test out.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric ICU patients and their families throughout the episode of care.
• Coordinate care with intensivists and other healthcare professionals.
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (holiday eve and holiday day count as one holiday).
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the 13-week schedule period.
• Facility may cancel full or partial shifts with 48 hours notice due to low census, without penalty.
• 13-week break required after completing a prior travel contract at this facility.
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius are not eligible.
• First-time travelers may be considered, provided all licensure requirements are met promptly upon offer.
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application and will not be added to the end of the contract.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Medical ICU position requiring an active NV RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience.

Details

• 8-bed Medical ICU setting within a hospital
• Chest pain accredited center without on-site cath lab or IR services (patients requiring these services are transferred to another campus)
• 1 Critical Care Technician staffed per shift
• ICU Charge RN also serves as the Rapid Response RN
• Set group of intensivists rotate weekly and are on-call 24/7 during the week
• 36 weekly guaranteed hours
• No call requirements
• Floating may be required to other units up to competency level
• Schedule may vary based on department needs, including weekends and some call shifts
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
