Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU assignment at a teaching hospital/Comprehensive Stroke Center in California. Requirements include CA RN license, BSN, and 2+ years in Neuro ICU with BLS and ACLS.

Travel experience is required; candidates should be able to float to UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius. Epic EMR experience is preferred and prior trauma ICU exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to neurological and trauma ICU patients.
• Work within a teaching hospital and trauma center environment.
• 12-hour variable day/night shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30).
• Ability to float to UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2+ years of Neuro ICU experience, a CA RN license, and BSN at a teaching hospital/Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Neuro ICU and Trauma ICU experience preferred
• EVD experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Ventilator management and respiratory care skills including ABG interpretation and tracheostomy care
• Experience with neurological care including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive drips
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia management and EKG interpretation
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Neuro ICU unit within a Comprehensive Stroke Center

• Work within a teaching hospital and trauma center environment
• All prior employment with any University of California medical facility or its acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager prior to starting; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of assignment or added mid-contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
