Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN for a night shift assignment in Washington. Open-heart recovery experience and a WA or compact RN license are required.

This travel nursing role offers high pay and bonuses, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), housing assistance, licensure reimbursement, and per diem. EPIC charting experience preferred; shifts are 19:00–07:30, with potential unit floating.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand.
• 2-3 years ICU/CCU experience required.
• Open-heart surgery recovery experience required.
• Device experience (Impella, IABP or similar) preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Arterial line management, central/PICC line care, IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG/dysrhythmia interpretation.
• CRRT/CVVHD, vasoactive drips titration, and emergency meds management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular/CCU of a hospital.
• Caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, including direct OR recoveries.
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30).
• EPIC charting system experience required.
• Floating within the hospital may be required.
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and post-surgical ICU patients.
• Complete facility orientation modules and sign-off by managers.
• Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment; no holiday-based RTO.
• No block schedules; local candidates accepted at same rate as travelers.
• Travel pairs accepted; former staff must be separated for rehire eligibility.

• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU/CCU experience required
• Open-heart surgery and fresh post-surgical recovery experience required
• Device experience with Impella, IABP, or similar balloon pumps preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills required include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilator management, and interpretation of ABGs/dysrhythmias
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing emergency medications required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular/Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital setting
• Caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering directly from the OR
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and post-surgical ICU patients
• Complete facility orientation modules, which average 8-12 hours and are signed off by facility managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no holiday-based RTO approved, including the holiday and surrounding weekend
• No block schedules permitted for this assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
