American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift ICU RN in California for a float pool assignment spanning ICU and lower acuity units. Active CA RN license and 1+ year ICU experience are required, with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications.

CPI and MAB are preferred. This 3x12 night shift role (19:00–07:30) offers travel opportunities and a communal hospital setting. The candidate will float among ICU floors and telemetry, with an expected 1:2 patient ratio and occasional shifts at a sister facility.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICU procedures and critical care

Responsabilités

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with a CA RN license and 1+ years of ICU experience for a float pool position requiring flexibility across ICU and lower acuity units.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required


• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CPI and MAB preferred


• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required


• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred


• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration required


• Skills in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and interpretation of ABGs required


• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation required


• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and renal failure patients required


• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Acute Care Hospital with 488 staffed beds


• ICU Float Pool position, may float to different ICU floors or to lower acuity units including telemetry


• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)


• Patient ratio of 1:2


• Weekend requirement of at least every other weekend, likely to exceed this to meet unit needs


• May be required to float to a sister facility nearby


• No on-call requirements


• Epic EMR used, charting experience required


• Float pool RN providing care across ICU and potentially lower acuity units including telemetry


• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)


• Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff


• Free parking provided on-site


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply


• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility


• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate


• RTO must be submitted and finalized at the time of application


• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
