Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift in Michigan. Active MI RN license and at least 2 years ICU experience are required. BLS/ACLS are mandatory; NIHSS preferred.

Epic charting and Pyxis system experience are essential, with care for ventilated patients and complex cardiac monitoring. 50-mile relocation or travel considerations may apply. Staff will work 3x12 hour nights (18:30-07:00) with every-other weekend coverage and potential unit float.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required in hand.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy and arterial line management required.
• Central line care/management and PICC line management experience preferred.
• Experience with care of ventilated patients required.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips preferred.
• Two professional references from within the last 24 months required.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting caring for adult patients.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00).
• Every other weekend coverage required.
• Floating within service line/scope of practice as needed.
• Uses Pyxis medication system.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with complex medical diagnoses.
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies as needed.
• Care for ventilated patients and manage various vascular access lines.
• Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required.
• Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year.

• Staffing ratio of 1:3 on all shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating within service line/scope of practice as needed
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Uses Epic for charting
• Utilizes SBAR communication method
• Provide critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with complex medical diagnoses
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies as needed
• Care for ventilated patients and manage various vascular access lines
• Navy and white scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required
• Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year
• Requests for time off of 7+ days require manager approval and cannot include holidays or days surrounding holidays
