Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring at least 1 year of home care or acute care experience and a MO or compact RN license.

In this role you will serve a 40–80 mile territory with a day shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), manage 5–20 visits per day, take every 4th weekend, and assist with on-call duties as scheduled.

Epic charting is used; hospital-affiliated home health experience is preferred; travel eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Active MO license or compact RN license
• BLS certification
• 1–2 years of acute care, med-surg, or home care experience
• Skilled home health experience
• OASIS documentation experience
• Experience at hospital-affiliated home health service

Responsibilities

• Provide adult home health services across a 40–80 mile territory
• Day shift 5x8, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Caseload of 5–20 visits per day with daily productivity
• Work every 4th weekend (Sat/Sun) with 2 days off around that weekend
• On-call responsibilities ~3–5 nights per month
• Use EPIC charting
• Care for high-acuity patients with limited resources
• MS Team: antibiotics, lab draws, IV care, ostomy care, tube feeding, wound care, disease management, patient education
• Cardiac Team: infusion management, IV Lasix, post-op care
• Must reside outside 75-mile radius; first-time travelers accepted

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring at least 1 year of home care or acute care experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1-2 years of acute care, med-surg, or home care experience required
• Skilled home health experience required
• OASIS documentation experience required
• Experience at a hospital-affiliated home health service required
• Skilled in phlebotomy, PleurX, catheter care, port access/maintenance, PT/INR finger sticks, wound vac/wound care, compression wraps, and ventilator management
• Cardiac skills including CADD pump management, handheld devices, and ECG/telemetry interpretation preferred
• IV certification preferred
• Must own a stethoscope and wear royal blue scrubs with closed-toe shoes

Responsibilities

• Provides adult home health services across a territory spanning 40-80 miles
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Average caseload of 5-20 visits per day using a daily point productivity system
• Required to work every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with 2 days off surrounding that weekend
• On-call responsibilities required approximately 3-5 nights per month, only on nights already scheduled to work that day
• No floating outside of scope required
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Delivers care to a diverse, high-acuity patient population with limited available resources
• MS Team responsibilities include antibiotic infusion, lab draws, IV care, ostomy care, tube feeding, wound vac/foley care, disease management, and patient education
• Cardiac Team responsibilities include infusion management (inotropes, dobutamine, milrinone), IVP Lasix administration, and post-op care
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
