Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health RN for a day-shift assignment in Pasco County, FL. The RN will provide skilled visits to adult patients covered by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance.

Requirements include an active FL or Compact RN license, BLS, 1 year of skilled home health experience, OASIS training, IV and wound care skills, phlebotomy and IV management, plus a valid driver's license for home visits.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home health care experience required.
• OASIS training and experience required.
• IV and wound care skills required.
• Strong phlebotomy and IV management skills required.
• Experience with general medical diagnoses and post-op care required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home visits.
• Cerner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled home health visits for adult patients covered by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance.
• Completes 6-8 home skilled visits per day.
• Schedule includes varied day shifts such as Mon-Fri 8a-5p, 9a-6p, or Thurs-Mon/Fri-Tues rotations.
• Alternating weekend shifts required.
• Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs.
• Provides care for high-risk diagnoses including heart failure, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiopulmonary assessments, basic wound care, ABI compression dressings, wound vac dressing changes, Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, glucometer and pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, venipuncture, PICC/midline care, and SQ port access/deaccess
• Uses laptop, MiFi, and portable printer for documentation
• Documents using BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet systems
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Must be COVID vaccinated or have an exemption form on file
• Must have flu shot or declination, with mandatory mask wearing at all times if declined
• Any solid color scrubs required
• Former BayCare permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
