Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a GI/Endoscopy RN with 2+ years of experience and BLS certification for a 13-week acute care assignment in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Responsibilities include intra-op circulating nursing in a 5-suite GI Lab with a 1 RN per room staffing model, using Epic EMR, and providing patient care with rotating on-call duties. Active WV license and driver’s license copy required.

Qualifications

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and equipment required.
• Epic experience is a plus.
• Active driver's license copy required at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide intra-op circulating nursing care for GI/endoscopy procedures.
• Maintain a 1 RN per room staffing ratio in a 5-suite Endoscopy/GI Lab.
• No sedation responsibilities; support surgical techs as needed.

American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy RN with 2+ years of experience and BLS certification for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and equipment required

• Active driver's license copy required at time of consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within the Endoscopy/GI Lab, a 5-suite unit
• 1 RN per room staffing ratio
• Serves as intra-op circulating nurse (no sedation involved)
• Common cases include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EMR, and hemorrhoid banding
• Uses Epic EMR
• Surgical techs are available to support the department
• No RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) used in this unit
• Scheduled Monday through Friday 7am-3pm with a number system for staying late if cases are unfinished
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling available
• No floating required
• On-call approximately 3 weeknights per month to finish up cases
• On-call one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 7am-3pm), potentially more frequent based on rotation
• On-call required on holidays from 7am-3pm
• Call response time is approximately 30 minutes, with some flexibility
• Provide intra-op circulating nursing care for GI/endoscopy procedures
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• In-house scrubs required
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine facility must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than one year cumulatively before requiring a 2-year break
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
