Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ED RN with at least two years of pediatric emergency experience and an active NE or compact RN license. This traveling position supports a teaching hospital in Omaha, with a Level II trauma center.

You will provide urgent pediatric care, triage, and procedures, work day shifts 3x12 hours, and engage with a wide range of pediatric emergencies. Epic experience preferred and travel housing allowances are included.

Qualifications

• Active NE or compact RN license required
• BLS required; ENPC, TNCC, and PALS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric ER experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric trauma, respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, orthopedic, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies

Responsibilities

• Level I verified Pediatric Trauma Center treating over 40,000 patients annually in a 26-bed unit
• Pediatric Emergency Department setting with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930, though shifts may vary based on department needs
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac anomalies, GI emergencies, and behavioral health crises
• Skilled in procedures such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, splinting, NG tube insertion, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Responsible for triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and infection prevention protocols
• Experience identifying and reporting abuse or neglect and managing restraint use as needed
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
