Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN with an active NV license and at least two years of pediatric emergency experience for a night shift role at a Level II trauma center in Reno. The position features a 3x12 night shift schedule (36 weekly hours) with no on-call requirements, and may require weekend/holiday coverage and occasional cross-unit floating.

Working hours use Epic EMR with orientation provided.

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN with an active NV license and at least two years of pediatric emergency experience for a night shift role at a Level II trauma center.

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum two years of experience in a Pediatric ER required
• Comfort with pediatric resuscitation and care of critically ill children
• Strong documentation skills and ability to provide compassionate patient and family care
• Minimum of one recent 13-week travel assignment within the past year required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Children's ER at a Level II trauma center
• 3x12 night shift schedule with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
• No on-call requirements
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Floating required to other units based on organizational needs, up to competency level
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Facility may cancel shifts for low census up to 48 hours per 13-week contract
• Epic EMR used, with training provided during orientation or test-out option available
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric ED patients and their families
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Facility is the region's only Level II Trauma Center, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
• Home to the region's only children's hospital
• Minimum of two major holidays coverage required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• 13-week break required between assignments for returning travelers
• No blocked scheduling allowed; all assignments are for 13 weeks
• Requested RTO must be submitted with application and will not be added to the end of the contract
