Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring triage and trauma experience along with specialty pediatric ED certifications.

The role involves working in a 35-bed Pediatric ED with 12-hour rotating shifts totaling 36 hours per week, using Epic EMR, and caring for a general pediatric population including mental health and trauma cases.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license currently in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI or MOAB.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Pediatric ED experience.
• At least 6 months of triage and trauma experience required.
• Experience providing general pediatric ED care including mental health cases required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a children's hospital.
• 35-bed unit including 21 ER beds and additional fast track/surgical suite beds on the 3rd floor.
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 for standard acuity and 1:6 for lower acuity patients.
• Tech to patient ratio of 1:8 with 24/7 support staff coverage.
• 12-hour rotating shifts totaling 36 hours per week.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide emergency care to a general pediatric patient population including mental health and trauma cases.
• Perform triage duties as part of daily responsibilities.
