Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of pediatric emergency experience and ENPC certification.

This role requires an active NM or Compact RN license with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS and ENPC certifications; NRP and TNCC preferred; RQI not accepted. Night shift 19:00–07:30 in a Level I Trauma pediatric ED with Cerner charting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and ENPC certifications required
• ENPC certification must be obtained prior to signing
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric ER experience
• Pediatric experience in ED setting required
• Trauma/resuscitation experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric dosing, phlebotomy, IV starts, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma ED
• Work in a Pediatric Emergency Department unit
• Maintain patient safety with 1:4 ratios for days, nights, and weekends
• Charting via Cerner and potential float to pediatric floors as needed
• Night shift 19:00–07:30 with no on‑call requirements
• Work in a teaching hospital affiliated with an academic institution
• Must meet holiday bundle requirements and RTO policies in December start dates

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of pediatric emergency experience and ENPC certification.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and ENPC certifications required (ENPC must be obtained prior to signing)
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Pediatric experience within a combined Adult/Pedi ED or standalone Pediatric ED required
• Trauma/resuscitation experience preferred
• Experience with triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, IV starts, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Level I/II trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, NG tube insertion, and procedural sedation preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted via completed exemption form

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital with 554 total staffed beds
• Pediatric Emergency Department unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends, which can increase during high unit volume
• During high census periods, admission holds may be boarded in the Peds ED longer than normal
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Weekend coverage scheduled as needed, with weekend days defined as Saturday/Sunday and weekend nights as Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• No on‑call requirements
• May float to Pediatric admission floors as needed based on staffing
• Charting via Cerner
• Black scrub color required
• No parking feeProvide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast‑paced Level I Trauma emergency department setting
• Work within a children's hospital affiliated with an academic teaching institution
• Must work 2 of the 3 designated holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/Day
• No holiday RTO available for December start dates
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval
• First‑time travelers will be considered if they have strong pediatric ER experience
• Candidates must live outside a 100‑mile radius of the facility
• Pending license candidates accepted
• Block scheduling accommodation not guaranteed
