Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for our Emergency Department in the DC area. This role requires trauma bay experience and a minimum of three years in ER. The position demands bedside trauma responsibilities, 1:5 patient ratios, 3x12-hour night shifts, and Cerner EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Active DC RN license required, no pending licenses accepted.
• Certifications required: NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, and ACLS (AHA only).
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of prior work experience in a US hospital in the ED specialty required.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.
• BSN highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced ED treating all patient types including urgent care, psych, pediatric, and trauma cases.
• Bedside trauma RN responsibilities within the trauma room required.
• 1:5 patient ratios.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Manages critical care skills including medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion of blood, and chest tubes.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs to ensure safety, quality, and a positive patient experience.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility.
• Local candidates accepted within the radius requirement.
